Inter in 2007: a record year
MILAN - Inter capped an extraordinary year with yesterday's 2-1 derby victory over AC Milan.
The defending Italian champions played 37 league matches from 13 January to 23 December 2007, collecting 92 points - 22 more than Roma. No team has managed a points per match average of 2.48 in one calendar year since three points were awarded for a Serie A victory.

With Sunday's Christmas derby win the Nerazzurri stretched their unbeaten league run to 23 games, their last defeat coming against Roma at the Meazza in April. Away from home, Mancini's men are unbeaten in 28 league games (20 wins and 8 draws).
The derby win over AC Milan was Inter's 10th consecutive victory in all competitions (6 in Serie A, 3 in Champions League, 1 in Coppa Italia).
In league games at the Meazza this season Javier Zanetti & Co. have won 25 out of a possible 27 points. The Nerazzurri have scored in 47 consecutive home games, netting a total of 112 goals.
