Inter Milan 2-0 Reggina
MILAN - Inter cruised to victory over Reggina in Saturday's Centenary fixture at the Giuseppe Meazza.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic converted a penalty on 18 minutes, with Burdisso added a headed second before the interval to put the Serie A leaders team six points clear of Roma, who beat Napoli in Sunday's batch of fixtures.
The Nerazzurri were greeted by a party atmosphere when they came on the pitch. Each area of the stadium displayed 100th anniversary banners, the Curva Nord turning on the usual style with an eye-catching choreography.
Inter were a goal to the good less than fifteen minutes in when Ibrahimovic converted a penalty awarded for a Valdes foul on Cambiasso.
Burdisso doubled the lead before half time, powering home his header from Jimenez' perfectly executed left-wing free kick.
Swedish ace Ibra went close to a second just before the break when his blistering free kick shaved the bar.
Relegation-threatened Reggina fought back after the restart and kept Julio Cesar busy, Amoruso, Hallfredsson, Tognozzi and Lanzaro forcing the Brazilian into crucial saves.
