Inter 3-0 Livorno

MILAN - Samuel Eto'o followed up his Champions League winner at Stamford Bridge with a sublime double as league leaders Inter saw off cellar dwellers Livorno in Serie A Week 30 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

The Cameroon striker, who hadn't netted in the Italian championship since his effort against Lazio in December, scored twice in five minutes to put the Nerazzurri in total command against Serse Cosmi's Amaranto.

Thiago Motta laid on his second assist of the game after the break to set up Maicon for Inter's third goal.

With Sneijder and Santon out injured and Stankovic unavailable through suspension, Mourinho made several changes to the side that drew away to Palermo at the weekend. Chivu, Materazzi and Cordoba returned in defence with Quaresma starting alongside Eto'o and Pandev in a three-pronged attack.

After an evenly-balanced opening period Eto'o broke the deadlock on 36 minutes, controlling Thiago Motta's ball into the box and swiftly turning Perticone before arrowing his shot beyond the reach of Rubinho.

Eto'o came close to a quick second from Quaresma's cross but was denied by Rubinho, who could do little to stop the Inter number nine from doubling Inter's lead in the 41st minute.

Chivu, in the starting lineup for the first time since his head injury against Chievo on 6 January, floated the ball across to Pandev on the right and the Macedonian crossed to Eto'o who took the Amaranto keeper by suprise with a magnificent overhead kick.

Maicon wrapped up the points sixteen minutes after the restart with his first goal at home since last season's effort against Werder Bremen in the Champions League. Put through by his compatriot Thiago Motta, the Brazilian right-back blasted past Rubinho from a tight angle on the right.

The win puts defending champions Inter four points clear of city rivals AC Milan who lost 1-0 at Parma, and Roma who join the Rossoneri in second place after their 2-0 victory at Bologna.

Inter 3-0 Livorno (HT: 2-0)

Scorers: Eto'o 36, 41, Maicon 61.
